VITALIZE COVID-19 TESTING
We Offer PCR, Rapid Antigen, and Antibody Tests for COVID-19
COVID-19 Test Rates
|Molecular (Isothermal NAAT)||25 min||$140|
|RT-PCR||24 hours or less||$140|
|Antibody – Rapid||15 min||$75|
|Antibody – Lab-based||1-2 days||$120|
The RT-PCR (Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction) test detects the unique genetic material (RNA) within the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19. This is done through a nasal or oropharyngeal swab.
The RT-PCR test is currently the gold standard for detecting the SARS-CoV-2 virus which is why it is the one required by many airlines, travel destinations, employers, etc.
MOLECULAR (Isothermal NAAT)
Molecular nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus genetic material and are more accurate than antigen tests. Several subtypes include PCR, RT-PCR, Isothermal, and LAMP tests. In addition to the gold standard RT-PCR test, we offer the faster and more affordable Isothermal molecular test that also uses nucleic acid amplification technology.
RAPID ANTIGEN TEST
Antigen testing is a rapid testing option that can detect viral proteins (or antigens) on the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19. This test entails a shallow nasal swab and results are available within 10 minutes. It is most accurate at the onset of symptoms and for 5 days afterward.
The Antibody test measures antibody responses to the virus, which primarily indicates that you have been exposed to the virus in the past. We have a few varieties of this test available including a rapid test which gives results in 15 minutes as well as a spike protein antibody test which is ideal for tracking one’s response to a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. These tests require a blood draw or fingerprick.
Please note that we are unable to bill insurance carriers directly for our services. However, you may easily seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier by filing a claim. We will happily provide you with a superbill, upon request, to accompany your claim. Reimbursement for testing usually requires a medical necessity and is not guaranteed.

Types of COVID-19 Tests
|RT-PCR/Molecular Test||Rapid Antigen Test||Antibody Test|
|When is this test recommended?|| |
|How the test works||Detects genetic material (RNA) within the COVID-19 virus||Detects proteins (or antigens) on the surface of the COVID-19 virus||Detects antibodies made by the immune system in response to COVID-19 infection|
|How the test is administered||Saliva, or swab from nose or throat||A swab from nose or throat||Blood from arm or finger stick|
|How long to get results||25 minutes to 3 days, depending on the test||Most are rapid, approximately 15 minutes or less||15 minutes for Rapid Antibody testing, up to 7 days for outside lab testing|
|What the test does||Checks for active coronavirus infection||Checks for active coronavirus infection||Checks for past coronavirus infection|
|What a positive result means*||A positive result means you have COVID-19. The test detected the COVID-19 virus.|
NOTE: If you had COVID-19 within the past 90 days and you now have a positive test but no symptoms, talk with your doctor to see if you have COVID-19 again.
|A positive result means you have COVID-19. The test detected the COVID-19 virus.||A positive result means that you have been infected by COVID-19 in the past. The test detected antibodies to the COVID-19 virus.|
|What a negative result means*||A negative result means the test did not detect the virus at the time the test was taken.|
A negative result can also happen if the test was taken too early or the test missed your infection.
|A negative result means the test did not detect the virus at the time the test was taken.||A negative result means the test did not detect antibodies to the COVID-19 virus and you may have never had COVID-19 (see antibody section below).|
- False negative results
- This means that the test result should be positive because you DO have COVID-19, but instead it comes back negative.
- This may happen, for example, if the sample was not collected properly, the test was taken too soon, or the test didn’t perform well.
- False positive results
- This means that the test result should be negative because you DO NOT have COVID-19 but instead it comes back positive.
- This may happen, for example, if the person tested is very unlikely to be infected and the test didn’t perform well.
