Peyronie’s Disease

Peyronie’s disease is a condition that causes scar tissue to form in the penis. This scar tissue can cause the penis to bend or curve, and it can also make erections difficult or painful. Peyronie’s disease is most common in men between the ages of 40 and 60, but it can occur at any age.

Diagnosis of Peyronie’s Disease involves a physical exam and medical history review. Imaging tests such as ultrasound or MRI may be used to visualize the scar tissue in the penis.

There are several treatment options available for Peyronie’s Disease. In mild cases, observation and monitoring may be recommended. In more severe cases, medication, injections, or surgery may be suggested. At VITALIZE, we offer a variety of natural and non-invasive treatments such as acoustic wave therapy and platelet-rich plasma injections that may help reduce pain and curvature, and promote healing of the affected tissue. We work with each patient to create an individualized treatment plan based on their unique needs and goals using naturopathic and functional medicine.
